A free Jungle Scout alternative
Updated
Jungle Scout has no free trial, says its pricing page, and its Catalyst plans start at $29 a month. Shelfverdict is free for one job: a go, maybe or no-go on the Amazon search page you have open. It has no database or keyword tools.
Free, no account, no cap on verdicts.
What Jungle Scout asks for
Jungle Scout’s pricing page says it has no free trial, and gives a 7-day money-back guarantee on its Catalyst plans. The Catalyst page lists three plans: Starter at $29 a month, Growth Accelerator at $49 and Brand Owner at $129, with yearly totals of $348, $588 and $1,548. Starter lists the browser extension, 100 product database searches a month and 50 Keyword Scout searches a month. So you pay before you see how it fits your way of working.
What a free alternative can do
Shelfverdict does one thing without paying. It reads the Amazon search page you have open and stamps it Go, Maybe or No-go from five checks on the top ten organic results.
- Review barrier: the median top-ten listing has more than 500 reviews.
- Young listings: fewer than three of the top ten have under 100 reviews.
- Ad share: more than 30% of the cards are sponsored.
- Brand hold: one brand holds more than 30% of the top ten.
- Price band: the median price is outside the band for the page’s currency.
Each check shows what was found and the limit it was held to, and the sentence under the stamp names the one that failed. Nothing is fetched from Amazon, and there is no account.
What it cannot do
It has no product database, no keyword research and no listing tools. A verdict is a rule of thumb for one search page, and the ad share and brand hold limits are our own. It will not tell you a product sells. For that you want sales data from a larger tool.
Which to choose
Choose Jungle Scout, or another suite, if you research several products a week and need a database to filter. Choose Shelfverdict if you want a free first look at a niche, or a cheap second opinion on a page a bigger tool already flattered. Pro is €39 a year or €79 once, and the roadmap page is where sellers tell us what to add next.
