Shelfverdict: Privacy Policy

What the extension does
On an Amazon search page or product page you have open, it reads the results the page already shows and works out a go, maybe or no-go verdict, tags each result and shows a product readout. It reads only the page in front of you. It never fetches an Amazon page by itself and does not crawl or poll Amazon in the background.
What happens to the pages you read
Nothing leaves your computer. The extension works on the page in your browser and does not send the searches you run, the products you open, their prices or their reviews to any server. It has no analytics, no advertising and no account.
The extension asks for the storage permission and for access to six storefronts: amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.it, amazon.fr and amazon.es. It holds no other website permission.
Data stored on your computer
- The last search you read, so the popup can show it.
- Your Pro licence key and pass end date, if you activate Pro, and the start and end dates of the free trial.
- With Pro: the rank, price and review count of each product you open, up to 90 looks per product and 400 products in all, and the niches you save with the products you picked in them.
This data lives in your browser's extension storage. Uninstalling the extension deletes it. A CSV file you export is a normal file in your Downloads folder and is not deleted with the extension. The fee and margin sheet works out its figures on your computer and keeps nothing you type.
Data that leaves your computer
Nothing, unless you take one of two actions.
- Activating Pro. Your licence key goes to our licence server at gigscope-api.exochard.workers.dev, which checks it with Payhip (the seller of record for Pro passes). The key is sent again from time to time while a pass is active, to check that it still is. Nothing else is sent with it.
- Pressing Send on the suggestion form, in the extension or on the roadmap page. The text you typed, your email address only if you entered one, and the Shelfverdict version number go to the same server, so we can read and answer them.
In Firefox, the extension declares these two as optional data collection, and Firefox asks you before either is sent.

The pages on shelfverdict.pages.dev set no cookies and use no analytics. When you remove the extension, the browser opens a thank-you page on this site with the version number in the address. The roadmap page talks to the server above when you vote or send a suggestion. Votes are remembered in your browser so that you do not vote twice.
